Have you ever wondered how you can take advantage of the services and resources offered at the Athens campus as a regional campus student? Look no further! The CLDC has adapted several of our services and resources to be more accessible for regional campus students. When it comes to Career & Leadership Development, distance should be no object! Keep reading to learn the top 5 ways you can engage with the CLDC as a regional campus student.

Connect with your Campus Career Development Staff

Each regional campus has a staff member dedicated to coaching students through the career development process. These career development professionals can work with you to explore major and career options, develop your resume, build your network, search for internships and jobs, and connect you with CLDC coaches and resources. Many of them also teach career courses and host special workshops for the campus community.

Earn a CLDC Leadership Certificate

The CLDC offers two leadership certificates that students can earn by attending leadership workshops and engaging with the CLDC: the Professional Leadership Certificate and the 21st Century Leadership Certificate.

Can’t participate in the weekly workshop series? No problem! Attend our Saturday Series and complete all of the workshop requirements to complete a series in one day! Check our website for more details.

Schedule a Skype or Phone Career Coaching or Mock Interview Appointment

Did you know that you don’t have to be on the Athens campus to meet with a CLDC coach for career coaching or a mock interview? The CLDC offers appointments over the phone or through skype, so you don’t even have to leave your campus to speak with a coach! Call our office at 740-593-2909 to schedule your phone or skype appointment today!

Attend a Career & Internship Fair

The Career & Leadership Development Center hosts the bi-annual Career & Internship Fair serving all students and alumni. Employers travel from across the country to recruit Ohio University students and alumni. This is a free event, and an opportunity that comes once a semester. At the career fair, you will meet employers and network to learn about part-time, full-time, co-op, or internship opportunities. Check with your campus career development staff as many of them offer transportation assistance, or carpool with a friend!

Apply or Submit a Nomination for a Leadership Award

Every spring, the Career & Leadership Development Center recognizes outstanding student leaders and student organizations for their exemplary contributions to the Ohio University community. All Ohio University students are invited to apply for leadership awards or to nominate others. Winners are recognized at the Annual Leadership Awards Gala. Last year, the Lancaster Campus Chapter of the Ohio Student Education Association was awarded the Outstanding Programming Award for their “So You Think You Can Teach” series. You can check out details about the Leadership Gala on our website.
