What campus resources, learned skills, or advice received during college prepared you most professionally?

Learning how to have extremely entertaining, engaging and thought provoking conversations. OU is a Meca for social opportunity and taking advantage of social situations is a fire starter for any sales career.

How has your extracurricular or leadership experience impacted your career path?

The leadership roles I took through different campus organizations were good to help me stand out on resumes, but what really has impacted me for the better was building relationships through out the OU community. The intangible skills that you learn from having small talk, mingling and spending time with others is what has given me the edge amongst my competitors.
What, if anything, has surprised you about the direction your career path has taken?
How much fun being a Bobcat is compared to the real world. 🙂

What was the biggest challenge you faced during the job-search process and how did you overcome that?

Letting myself follow my gut with the opportunities I faced. Don’t try to force anything or assume that it will get better. If you are wishing things were a bit different about a certain job before you accept, it’s a good sign that it’s not a good fit. Make the best of the opportunity you are given and don’t be a quitter. I have seen a lot of people quit my company and the grass was almost never greener on the other side. Its a huge adjustment moving to a full-time job, but try to get used to the change. It takes real grit and character to grind yourself to a successful place; no matter what opportunity. Trying changing yourself before changing your job.

What is your favorite thing about post-grad life?

Having successes within my company, investing, concert going and still…partying.
