Are you in the College of Arts & Sciences? The first ever College of Arts & Science’s Career & Networking Week starts on January 30th and ends February 3rd. This is a week of events to aid in networking, using resources, interviewing and everything in between. It was created specifically for students majoring in humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. If you have time available, this is a week of events you will not want to miss.

Maximizing Your Arts & Sciences Degree, Jan. 30
Have pizza with Dr. Frank, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Imants Jaunarajs, Assistant Dean of Students for the Career and Leadership Center. They will share some insight on how to maximize your time as a student and how to market your degree for internships and jobs.

“How to Use LinkedIn to Network with Employers & Alumni” Workshop, Jan. 30
Discover the features offered through LinkedIn—one of the best networking tools—including how to navigate the Alumni Networking Tool. Bring a laptop or tablet to this interactive workshop.

“How to Use Bobcat CareerLink during the Internship & Career Search” Workshop, Jan. 31
Learn how to set-up your profile and utilize Bobcat CareerLink to connect with employers seeking Bobcats through job and internship postings, on-campus interviews, career events, and more.

‘My Summer as an Intern & How to Find Yours,’ Feb. 1
Hear from other Arts and Sciences students on how they found their internship, advice on how you to market your experiences to get hired, and tips on being a successful while in the position.

Build Your Bobcat Network | Alumni & Student Networking Reception, Feb. 2
Network with Arts and Sciences alumni and other students. The College of Arts & Sciences will print business cards for students if you RSVP for the event by January 23rd. RSVP here.

Start Smart (Salary Negotiation) Workshop, Feb. 3
This workshop presents the wage gap, with a particular discussion of the gender wage gap and how to combat it by improving one’s salary negotiation skills. Salary negotiation is analyzed through budgeting, salary benchmarking, and negotiation tips and tactics. RSVP here.
