As the end of the school year approaches, the workload seems to increase. This is the same time of year when the weather warms up, your motivations fall short and you start to go a little crazy.

Final projects and exams are approaching and you need a new way to stay focused. There are probably some food tricks to stay focused you didn’t know about. So, read on, future leaders of America.

Fish, people.

It’s good for you. It is rich in fatty acids and omega-3s, which are both great for your brain. Eating fish for two meals a week can help you retain all the information on those notecards.

Healthy sugars (aka fruit)

Natural sugars can increase your alertness. Try fruit or a fruit-based drink to increase your healthy sugar levels.

Caffeine, duh.

We all know caffeine can aid the process of staying focused and awake. Heck, most people need at least two cups to feel normal. But, chocolate has caffeine. Did you know that? Yeah, that’s right you can eat copious amounts of chocolate while you study and increase your caffeine levels. Well, maybe not copious amounts, but you get the picture.

NUTS!

No, don’t go nuts! EAT nuts! Nuts are a good source of protein and have the antioxidant vitamin E. Great study snack too!

Yummy blueberries

They sure are yummy. And sooooo good for you. Blueberries have good yummy stuff in ’em that protect your brain from danger and may reduce the effects of age-related conditions.

“WATER, SANDY! I NEED IT!”

Stay hydrated. Yeah, there’s not much more to it. You need it. Lots of it.
